24%...

I am amazed and humbled by all your generosity! After just 2 weeks of fundraising I am already a quarter of the way to my goal.....Thank you all so much for helping me reach my goal!

Training has been good, I did not realize how hard it was gonna be, but my motivation is still very high and every time I get on that treadmill I know every step I take is gonna make all those miles a little easier when October rolls around.

For all of you who are supporting me....you will never know how much it means to me and I promise I will do everything in my power to keep training hard and be ready for the walk in October!

Day 1...

Well I began training yesterday....hit the gym with my MP3 player full of tasty tunes...and did pretty good I do believe...

I was going to get on a treadmill, but of course they were all full, except the one that was out of order. So I jumped on the eliptical machine...

I was suprised at how well I did, I got my 3 miles done and felt pretty good when I was done.

Then I got home and Keith, Sammy and I did some pilates and also a little aerobic dancing! Which was a lot of fun...

So day 1 was a sucsess, I think the hardest part is going to be just keeping going....

My goal is to get my registration done for the walk this week and make sure to hit the gym...

Thank you to all who are supporting me through this!

Sad but determined....

Yesterday we buried my friend Melissa....she was 30 years old and passed away from breast cancer....she fought hard and long. I am so sad about her leaving this earth and have many ?? like WHY?? Beyond just why her, why do we not have a cure for this disease that effects sooo many people every day. Before Melissa passed away, we started making plans for the Susan G Komen 3 day 60 mile breast cancer walk in Atlanta, GA in Oct. She and her mom did it last year and she said it was one of the greatest things she has ever done. Her passing makes me want to fight harder to find a cure for this disease. So I am still planning on doing the walk. We have to earn a minimum of $2300 to walk, it is 20 miles each day for 3 days. So starting Monday Jan 12th I will begin training and also start my fundraising efforts.

The way I am looking at this is if 100 people donate $23 to me, then I will have the money I need....pretty simple right??

With training I am gonna start walking 3 miles a day and then either Sat or Sun do a longer walk...Keith has agreed to take the longer walks on the weekend with me when the weather gets nicer. I really want to do this to honor my friend, and think that it might help me get into better shape!

So here begins my journey, the first of many steps to lead me to my goal.......
