Update....

Hey everyone

Just wanted to send out a little update on the progress of our team and my individual fundraising! So far our team has raised $7,564.00

I have raised $1601.00 and am 70% to reaching my first goal of $2300! So things are coming along quite nicely! I would like to see our team raise over $10,000 which means each of us will need to raise just $200 over our goal of $2300 each!

To those of you who donated, I want to tell you how much I appreciate it and how much your support means to me!

For those of you who would like to donate here is my donor website...

or you can send me a check or cash

Also we are having a fundraiser on May 16th from 6pm-12am at the Red carpet Tavern on Wayne Ave. My team and I will be waiting tables for tips and there will be drink and food specials where part of our proceeds will go to our team! We will also be selling beads and jello shot, 50/50 tickets and raffle tickets for door prizes.

Also if you would please forward this email on to anyone who you think would be interesting in the fundraiser or donating, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you for taking the time to read this email and thank you for all your support as we continue to work towards finding a cure for this disease!

My update....

Hey everyone :) Just wanted to give an update!!! Things are going really well with my fundraising and training! I am at 66% of my goal as of this morning. My friend Vanessa from Anguilla had a Spoken Word for a Cure with her spoken word group and raised $130 for my walk. I am so amazed how people are so willing to give to this cause, but I think it is because so many people have been effected by Breast Cancer....

Training is going well, I got a double stroller a few weeks ago, and have had the girls out on walks at least 3 days a week. It is nice to be able to go out, and take them with me. I hope to continue that and expand to get out for a walk at least 5 days.....the girls can usually stay in the stroller for about 3 miles before they want to get out...so I have been walking them to a few local parks to give them a chance to play.

We are hoping to have a meeting for our team in the next few weeks to get everything laid out. We are still having our Fundraiser on May 16th from 6pm-12am at the Red Carpet Tavern on Wayne Ave. It should be a really fun night, and I am hoping to plan a couple more fundraisers as well.

Thanks to everyone who has been supportive of me through all of this...I really appreciate it a lot!

Remember if you would like to donate to me, or any of my teamates here is the donation page...

Over 50% and a new name!

It has been a crazy past few weeks for me. Keith has his late week at work last week, so my gym time was not what it should have been. Then he ended up getting sick this week which stunk, besides the fact that he is sick, I have become sole caretaker of the kiddos till he gets better. So I was unable to go to the gym at all this week! I am really looking forward to getting back into my regular walking routine this coming up week. Plus the weather is starting to get nicer which means I will be able to get out during the day and take the girls on walks....now to find a used double stroller for cheap ;)

I am now at 54% of my goal...I have earned $1231 so far!!! I am so excited and so thankful of everyone's generosity! I am just amazed by the love and support I am receiving! Here is the site to donate if you still would like to http://www.the3day.org/site/TR/Walk/AtlantaEvent?px=3009232&pg=personal&fr_id=1291

Finally our team name...we had talked about making a team name something fun and with Melissa's name in it....So I was searching the other team names looking for some inspiration and all of a sudden it came to me....Fort's Yayas for Tatas!

I feel like it is the perfect name for us and my teammates agreed! So that is now our official name!!!

Thanks for all of the love you have all given over the past few months, it means so much to me!

$1000!!!!

Once I add the two $20 donations I have, I will be over $1000!!!! I am so excited!
I am so amazed by people's giving spirit! It is making me become a more giving person! I feel like I am learning so much as I prepare for this walk!

I was a total slacker this past week for training....but next week I am back on it....I am so looking forward to warmer weather so I can take the girls and just walk....I plan on getting a double stroller so by the time it gets warm I will be ready to, as Sammy says, ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!

If any one feels like walking with me once it gets nice, I will be doing longer walks on Sat and Sun....and I could always use some company! Also I have been tracking the distance from my house to different locations around the area....so do not be suprised if I end up at some of your doorsteps once it gets nice, asking to use your bathroom...or fill my water bottle!!!!

I want to thank you all for your love and support on this wonderful journey I am taking!

33% and going strong!!!

Well I am at 33%!!! I will be sending a reminder email in the middle of Feb. I have decided to send a monthly email to everyone just to make sure they remember that I am doing this! Mom and I have been throwing around some different ideas for fundraisers....I think we may try to meet at then end of Feb, beginning of March to hash out the details of what we are gonna do and when!

Training: Last week with the snow I was not able to train like I would have liked....it stinks because I felt like I was doing so well, and now I feel like I will be trying to get back on track this week. I got my packet of info and there is a training schedule in it, so I am gonna take a look at it and see if I can follow that a little better!

Thanks so much for all your support!!!!
